My board: Prior Khyber 165
My mountain: Whistler
Prefered terrain: Backcountry, pow, softpack, corn, hardpack (in that order)
Will stay home on ice days, never in the park (though cliffs are fair game on a pow day).
I would say I'm an agressive intermediate/advanced rider. I'm currently on Burton Cartels and find the comfort to be slightly lacking, and the ratchets are starting to go.
My concern is that Cateks seem to be aimed at riders that rip the hardish snow. How will they react in pow? Will the added deck height be lame in the deep stuff? I'm thinking they'll help me control power transfer to my edges on my wide board.
I have a buddy that skis who's arguing that the higher deck height will hurt pow performance, which seems to be the case for skiers. Does the logic follow for us riders?
Thanks,
Dylan |
